Javier Espinosa
Javier Espinosa was born in Quito in 1815 and died in 1870. He was president from 1868 to 1869. He respected electoral freedom and organized the right to vote to elect a successor. He started public works and founded several banks in Guayaquil. He appointed García Moreno to take care of rebuilding Ibarra after the earthquake of August 16, 1868.
